Sailing with my family from Europe over the Atlantic, through the Panama canal, along the sparsely distributed islands in the South Pacific over to New Zealand. This amazing trip brought our family even closer together. Time seemed to be infinite. We faced strong winds, but no storm thanks to our careful planning.

For the next generation Sound Processor for cochlear implants I was coordinator between the embedded SW team in the head quarter in Switzerland and the one in California. The goal was to integrate seamlessly the cochlear implant SW into the hearing instrument platform in order to benefit from all its features. Therefore the platform needed to be adapted.

When the next generation wireless chip project was launched, I joined the new team in the role of the embedded SW architect. The goal of our SCRUM team was to implement the in-house defined wireless protocol and to bring up the new chip. The chip contained 3 processors and a highly configurable radio. Our small Micro Controller team was responsible for the user interface, switching algorithms on the DSP and provide the interface to the PC. Development of a production test for a 16 input video grabber card for surveillance applications. The work in this start-up company consisted of HW and SW development. The HW part was the design and bring up of a PCB capable to hot-plug the unit under test to the PC's ISA bus (PC104) and switch video signals. The SW part included FPGA code on the test PCB.

Representing Switzerland in the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 in 470 Sailing (2 person team). Everything we did was in the focus of our goal: Physical training, mental training, finding best equipment and gear, fund raising and more.
