My curiosity of the surrounding world has lead me to many paths in my life. The interaction between things and or beings has always caught my attention. Social science, psychology, environmental phenomena and ethology, interactions and strategies can be found everywhere. To optimize, find stable states or at least some answers (and many questions) of such different processes is hard, my way was through mathematics. Most of us are aware of the fact, we live in a chaotic world. Answers often depends on the questions we ask instead of what data actually can tell us. To come up with good questions and strategies to mine as good answers as possible takes a lot of skill, and due to the chaotic nature the best answer is rarely achievable. Mathematics, statistics and numerics are some of the best tools to efficiently navigate and unravel such mysteries. To mention a few of popular tools from these combined fields it can be time series to see changes over time, neural networks or machine learning to evaluating similarities between images or extreme value analysis to evaluate very unlikely events. Nowadays I work as an Data Analyst at OPSIS, where I contribute in both development of our services, and with highly qualitative air analyses. As an analyst I also think it is important to emphasize that theory and reality are sometimes far from each other. It can be due to incomplete or corrupt data (an analysis can not be better than its data), misunderstandings or lacking knowledge. But if all criteria are met, the most complicated mysteries can be unraveled. When working with data analysis I have found it is very important to keep your self in a healthy state as well. To do so I ensure spending time with my family (including our animals and plants), exercise and make sure I can relax everyday.
