It was the year 2004 when I first discovered a joy of web creation. I was just about nine years old. I created my first web page ever, just in HTML, entirely stupid, there was nothing but some text and a couple of images. These even had an absolute path to them, so they'd show only on my computer, but I've learned from my mistakes since then. Even though the feeling of creating a web page was awesome. It didn't take too long for me to discover CSS to make the pages look good, JavaScript to give them some fancy effects and finally PHP & MySQL to make them actually do something useful.Years went by, and I started doing some first commercial projects. I've coded a bunch of PSD graphic designs to HTML/CSS/JS, I've done some webpages with administration systems and a couple of bit more interesting web apps. After graduating from high school, I wanted to do something a bit more challenging than going to university as my classmates. So I've decided to go to the UK, alone, by myself. The plan was to do some web development there, but I've failed that. My English wasn't great, and I just couldn't get this kind of job there, so I've eventually ended up working in storage, picking up stuff with a pallet truck. Anyway lessons learned English improved and experiences gained. After coming back to the Czech Republic, I started working as a developer for an e-shop. This was the first time I had worked on some larger project with colleagues as well, which was a great lesson for me. Then so far my longest and hardest journey has begun. I started working on a quite extensive web application for email marketing. I've learned so much working there, everything from designing UX friendly forms to solving performance issues related to working with a large amount of data.I've deepened the knowledge of PHP & SQL quite a lot, learned how to work with server-side GraphQL, worked with countless of different technologies and finally also get to know a lot of great people there.
