I spent the last 5 years working on the world's biggest solar project, aiming to send Australian solar power to SIngapore via an underwater cable. I was lucky enough to be Sun Cable's first employee eventually had the honor of serving as its CTO. Before Sun Cable, I completed my PhD in renewable energy economics (with a bit of AI tacked on the side), leveraging the skills I learned in my undergrad renewable energy engineering and computer science studies. I've started a number of businesses in the software, energy and electricity retail spaces. I also spent a good deal of time developing blockchain-based software in the early days of the Ethereum network. These days I'm building machines that suck carbon dioxide out of the air. My company is called Direct Air Industries and we have a rapidly scalable carbon removal technology. The dream is to help solve climate change by sucking CO2 out of the air and either putting it in the ground for good, or using it as the base material for a new wave of green industries like e-fuels and methanol.
