I'm responsible for following EU files and dossiers as well as representing Slovenian interests and positions in the areas of Education (including Higher Education), Youth and Sport. During Slovenian Presidency to the EU in 2021, I was chairing two Council of the EU preparatory bodies, the Education Committee and the Working Party on Sport.During this time, we successfully coordinated Council's position on European Sport Model which deals with essential understanding how sport is organised, its specific nature and values in sport. Among others in the area of sport, we also focused towards supporting lifelong physical activity of citizens by recognising the importance of physical fitness monitoring systems. In the area of education, we steered the Council of the EU to agree on a New European Adult Learning Agenda 2021-2030, blended learning approaches in primary and secondary education and governance of the European Education Area.

During this period of time at the Ministry I was working on several topics, projects and activities, such as:- Project Officer of the Poly4EmI (Polymers for Emerging Industries) project, funded under the EU Competitiveness and Innovation Programme: www.poly4emi.eu- Project Officer of ERA-NET transnational projects in the field of Health,- Member of the Governing Board of the National Institute of Biology.- management of projects funded under the European Regional Development Fund- Member of the Programming Committee and National Contact Point for Societal Challenge 5 under Horizon 2020: Climate Action, Environment, Resource efficiency and Raw materials- Member of the Governing Board and National Contact Point under Joint Programming Initiative Connecting Climate Knowledge for Europe (JPI Climate), and- National Contact Point for Legal and Financial Affairs under 7th EU Framework Programme (FP7).
