I am a therapist, educator, advocate, writer, and artist-activist. Behavioral Health Scientist And Therapist, Co-FounderEmerge: The Adams-Tynan Clinical Foundation Jul 2015 - PresentAs co-founder with Chad Tynan of this non-profit clinical foundation, my role has been to serve the Board of Directors in creating a holistic health organization aimed at providing counseling, coaching, education, and psychotherapy to the community, with a special emphasis on those who can be left out of the public or managed care mental health systems due to diversity of sexuality, gender expression, relationship structure, and/or economic factors. We provide relationship coaching, sexuality counseling, substance abuse therapy, spiritual direction, mood therapy, and "get my life together and take it on the road" coaching. We will partner our services with referrals to like-minded health practitioners: psychiatrists; acupuncturists and herbalists; allopathic physicians; osteopathic physicians; doctors of chiropractic; psychologists; and others. We are targeting three high-risk urban centers: Chicago, San Francisco, and the District of Columbia. We focus on human potential, on reducing risk and harm, on evolution through the stages of change, and on providing a safe, stigma-free environment. We provide both confidential face-to-face sessions and video conferencing as state laws may allow. We have both full-fee care and low-fee clinics.
