The ESP group explores how to incorporate end-user satisfaction & guidance in computer systems, computer architecture design and implementation. Project 1: Built a circuit that outputs oscillating magnetic frequencies with 555 timer astable mode. Analyzed Fast Fourier Transform of oscillating frequencies and devised an algorithm to detect the signal against ambient noise in all three XYZ axes. Created an Android SDK application (Magnetometerv1) that implements the algorithm in real time on mobile devices.Project 2: NU modular watch is a smart watch that aids research projects to gather health monitoring data in the wild. Nowadays, most of the health data are measured under controlled environment. We have utilized latest micro-embedded systems with BLE (bluetooth low energy) technology to gather data from appropriate sensors and send the data to appropriate phones in real time. The key concept of NU modular watch is the use of "plug and play" sensors.
