I plan to secure a long-term career as a clinical psychologist with a focus on anxiety and depression. I have a passion for mental health and supporting people when they need it. Currently, striving for an entry-level job in the mental health industry.I recently completed bachelor of psychological science degree at the University of Newcastle. Previously, I have been employed at Red Rooster and Hungry Jacks and am currently employed as a construction labourer at collaborative construction solutions and often step into a leading hand position, managing others. This year I have begun volunteering at Lifeline as a Crisis Supporter. Answering calls and guiding people in crisis through the CARE framework has been extremely rewarding. A skill I have already strongly developed is flexibility. During 2020 all my education was forced online. Assessments and exams remained at the same level of difficulty however the conveying of the education had dramatically changed. I quickly learnt all the features of my university’s online education site and adapted the way I receive information. I ended my first year of university with a GPA of 5.0.The skill of teamwork is one I have mastered. I have had to step up and lead others on various construction sites. During a recent project, I was asked to be in charge of four other labourers for a week. The project was handed over on time and I received praise from the site manager. This situation combined with my 10 years playing sport and 5 years working in fast-paced team environments, has developed my teamwork skills greatly.
