At Presien I help develop new products by taking them from concept to prototype to production. My responsibilities included:- Electrical design, including design and production of printed circuit boards (PCBs)- Mechanical design- Performance and environmental testing- Achieving and maintaining compliance- Managing the engineering change management system

• Designed, managed, and commissioned an engineering prototype for an efficiency device to be installed on industrial HVAC systems.• Operated the test facility including designing and running tests, analysing data and reporting results to management and clients.• Built mathematical models using climate and geographic data combined with simulation and empirical data to determine energy savings of the device under development.• Oversaw external validation testing at CSIRO.

• Audited historical data and summarised behaviour of wax as a non-Newtonian fluid including fitting mathematical models to measured data to characterise viscosity for varying shear rate and temperatures.• Presented engineering solutions to reported issues in remote plant installations with a focus on minimising re-work.• Developed functional design requirements and presented high level designs and CAD models for new plant equipment proposals.• Engaged external suppliers to gather machinery and manufacturing equipment quotes and information.• Ran experimental trials to improve milling performance resulting in a 50% increase in milling speed.• Ran experimental trials to develop casting capabilities including finding a suitable release agent and confirming its compatibility with concrete and fibreglass.• Aided in the development of financial models through data gathering and providing insight into manufacturing processes.

• My role was lead of chassis design team responsible for design, production and testing of the 2017 vehicles aluminium monocoque chassis.• Achieved a 30% reduction in mass through design optimisation, exceeding design targets with minimal increase in production time or cost.• Specified the methods and managed the production of numerous components requiring methods such as CNC machining, composite mould and part production, 3D printing and welding.• Implemented techniques such as cost benefit analysis, design for manufacture and assembly and design optimisation to improve vehicle performance.• The vehicle far exceeded previous benchmarks, achieving second place with unprecedented reliability and accolades.

• Developed prototype systems for a wax 3D printer requiring mechanical and mechatronic design.• Quantified materials characteristics for the wax and evaluated their effect on the performance of 3D prints.• Generated CAD models for the factory fit out. Liaised with third parties working in the UK to find suitable solutions.
