My name is Luke Carson, I was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and I currently reside in Dublin, Ireland. Where I am the mens national coach working for Gymnastics Ireland. I am a high performance gymnastics coach and I have 20 years of experience within the sport, with a particular skill set and keen interest in:-Strength and conditioning-Strategic planning-Performance psychology. I currently oversee and deliver national squad sessions and training camps from junior level to elite senior international level. Under my programming and guidance my athletes have achieved :-Irish and British National titles -Commonwealth Games gold Medal - European gold medal-World Bronze medal -A multitude of World Cup medalsMy athlete Rhys McClenaghan who has risen to notoriety over the last several years has successfully qualified to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and all efforts are being made to ensure Rhys fulfils his potential at these Games. Although gymnastics is one of the oldest Olympic sports it is particularly fast growing in recent Olympic cycles. This is no surprise to me as I am of the belief that athletes from all sports can benefit from the fundamental strength, flexibility and co-ordination that this unique sport offers. I have a keen interest in public speaking especially when delivering to other aspiring coaches. I have delivered coaching seminars inside the world of gymnastics and also to other sporting governing bodies. I also deliver sessions to non sporting companies.
