Having been at Symbion since May 2011, I have been fortunate to work on a variety of interesting and rewarding projects across the region, developing unique responses to the challenges of each project, whilst developing and managing the process through to completion.As a senior architect my role is to coordinate projects from the outset, maintaining high standards of design, technical proficiency and project management. Other administrative responsibilities include; organizing and coordinating PR and marketing, IT, training, mentoring, resourcing, recruitment and reviewing standards within the practice.Office projects to date vary but mostly include the following sectors: Urban Design, Residential, Industrial, Hospitality, Commercial, Cultural, Recreation and Education. As a member of the senior technical team, a role in generating projects is also important and achieved through competitions, bids and networking. I was employed at ASL for 5 years and in that time I was involved with a number of projects across a variety sectors including: residential, education, arts & culture, transport, commercial and masterplanning.A selection of buildings were awarded the highest accreditations for sustainable design based on principles of passive design, appropriately sourced materials and the use of effective renewable energy/water harvesting technologies.Marketing and PR were also key areas of interest promoting the practice and establishing better links with clients and wider market.
