About Luke Cox

I work as an Adolescent and Family Psychologist at WAYS Youth & Family, a non-government organisation. We provide short to medium term psychological services consisting of assessment and therapeutic interventions, free to families in the Sydney Eastern Suburbs region for low to moderate mental health presentations. We also run regular workshops, and participate in outreach and networking events within the community.I have over five years of experience providing psychological services and counselling to clients. My approach to working with clients is curious and collaborative. I utilise narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioural approaches.I am very passionate about work which aims to support vulnerable groups, especially for adolescents, international students, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups and LGBTQI persons.I have previously worked as a student counsellor for international university students for over two years, and then two years in the occupational rehabilitation sector providing psychological assistance to physically and psychologically injured workers. I have also volunteered with Lifeline, ReachOut and Headspace.
