Joined the parliamentary team supporting a Labour MP handling general communications and policy, working with a range of all-party stakeholders, in particular school food campaigns working from the Houses of Parliament.

Following his successful term as Youth MP for South Tyneside, Luke is now regularly delivering speeches and advocacy work for a range of campaigns, including Sustain’s ‘Say Yes to School Food for All’ and boosting engagement within several UN, WHO and UNICEF global programs.

Working to develop communications to widen the organisations reach as well as working directly with schools to further engage youth voice in the Bite Back in Schools Programme.

Following a restructuring of Bite Back 2030, Luke became a Youth Advisory Rep at the organisation, moving up from Chair of its now obsolete National Youth Board. Responsible for a wider range of campaigns and more young people than ever before, he is currently working on social justice initiatives with young activists, corporates and authorities across the UK and globally.

As the first sole Chair of the National Youth Board (newly named Advisory Rep) Luke is responsible for engagement of our young people and working in collaboration with our CEO to guide the organisation towards a future that is better for child health.Previous successful campaigns for Bite Back 2030 include the free school meals campaign of 2020 (ongoing) and the current junk food advertising campaign.

Luke joined Bite Back 2030 in their mission for a better future for child health back in August 2022.

Part-time role alongside studies

Luke was elected as the Member of Youth Parliament for South Tyneside back in March 2022 in the borough’s largest election and consultation of young people ever.He represented all of his constituents regionally and nationally, made appearances with speeches at the House of Commons and coordinated closely with his borough council to champion the voice of the young person on a local level.

Luke joined South Tyneside's Youth Council back in October 2021. Since then, he has collaborated on campaigns covering a wide range of local issues following consultation with young people from across the borough.These include battling the effects of climate change, championing the fight against domestic abuse, and the latest health & well-being campaign. Recently, he has worked with his Director of Public Health, Mayor, and Leader of the Council to promote these amazing efforts from all within South Tyneside Young People’s Parliament.
