As the State Operations Manager for BOOM Logistics’ access hire division, I am responsible for the overall achievement of the business in Western Australia. With direct reports being Business Development Managers, Maintenance, Administration and Allocations teams, we keep a constant TEAM culture with a focus on safety, continuous improvement and client retention. Coaching and mentoring staff to continuously develop skills and knowledge for the benefit of themselves and the business. Having the responsibility of the WA business success, I deal with revenue analysis in the form of ‘Profit and Loss’ statements, budget projection, Outgoing costs of both internal and external points, EBA negotiation, Creating and initiating new growth projects. Ensuring that all staff are up to date with all of their licensing and competencies, new staff are correctly trained and inducted, all staff are not only following the procedures and policies but following the BOOM Logistics way. From running my own state, I have been able to increase revenue by opening new segments of external business that had not otherwise been thought of. Utilizing my open style of leadership, by being seen and leading from the front, I have been able to ensure that all staff conduct themselves in a professional manner ensuring that our clients receive the best service possible. With this approach linked with continuous improvement we have been able to assist in achieving an LTI free rate of 0 incidents over 3 million hours, this has also been helpful in our ability to win major works.
