About Luke Dickey
I'm always at my happiest when I'm being creative. Whether it's drawing an illustration, writing a story or shooting and editing a video, imagination has been the major driving force in my life since I was a child. This passion led me to attend OCAD University where I majored in Drawing and Painting and minored in Creative Writing and Illustration. It was there that I honed my visual and creative problem-solving skills, in addition to developing my drawing and painting techniques. My freelance illustration experience includes producing illustrations of extinct ecosystems for Western University’s Earth Sciences and Media Relations departments. As a paleontology enthusiast, this was an absolute dream come true and a fantastic learning experience. From the earliest stages of sketching to the rendering of the final illustrations, I corresponded with scientific researchers, their feedback shaping my approach. This collaborative process was an invaluable experience for me, one that’s helped me understand not only how important it is to take feedback in a creative project but how fun it is to think of ways to apply the new information you’re given. I recently graduated from the Film and Multiplatform Storytelling post-graduate program at Humber College, where I added film and digital content creation to my artistic toolkit. I'm seeking opportunities in both the illustration and film and media production industries that will allow me to lend my skills and creative perspective to your organization.
