Wine Cellar is one of South Africa’s leading wine merchants and retailers, importing international fine wine and sourcing the very best local producers, as well as offering private storage (cellaring) to over 500 customers. As the operations manger I was responsible of all logistics, storage and stock control, warehousing and account management, planning and development, maintenance and human resources.

Abu Camp is considered to be one of the most prestigious and exclusive safari lodges in Africa. As Camp Manager I was responsible for the full running of the lodge, to introduce new systems and structures, train and develop the staff and enhance the guest experience. The job required extremely high levels of organization, coordination and attention to detail. I managed over 60 staff and hosted very high profile guests. I was chiefly responsible for the staff and senior management, their HR and training requirements. My duties involved overseeing all departments within the camp, including FOH, F&B, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Guiding and working with the Wild Horizon elephant handling team. I was also involved with all aspects of guest relations, co-ordinating all activities, special events and hosting.

Slurp was one of the UK's fastest growing and most innovative online wine, beer and spirit retailer. Its main area of distribution is within the UK and Europe; it also exports much further afield e.g., Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and the US. With over 6,000 different products it boasted by far the largest selection of wines in the UK. During my time at Slurp I helped them grow from a small team averaging approx 20 orders per day to a much larger operation averaging over 200 orders per day. As Logistics/Warehouse Manager I was responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the distribution side of the business: contacting suppliers, customers and couriers to ensure the timely delivery of goods; employing, training and managing human resources; and, keeping costs within budget. I worked on the design and implementation of all systems relating to operational procedures. I was also fully responsible for the relocation and installation of their warehouse.
