About Luke Everitt Micfor
I am a Chartered Forester with over 20 years experience working in a variety of roles. I am competent in multiple IT packages and an experienced user of Office 365 and Forestry Commission systems. I have undertaken project management training whilst working for the Woodland Trust and have experience in managing projects both small and large. In addition to this, I have completed the Forestry Commission’s Professional Managers Programme and have a level 2 award in team leading from the Chartered Management Institute. I have extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and creating new partnerships. These include organisations such as Sussex Wildlife Trust, MOD, Test Valley Borough Council, Surrey County Council and the Arun and Rother Rivers Trust. I am an excellent organiser and multi-tasker; I work on multiple operational projects simultaneously. I have successfully delivered multiple projects throughout my career. These range from large-scale million-pound community woodland creation to managing multiple small-scale projects across different land holdings. All were successfully delivered on time whilst maintaining good relationships with owners and agents. I have excellent communication skills with experience presenting to a wide range of audiences. A recent example of this is presenting to over 90 landowners at the Surrey Tree Summit, a partnership event organised by the FC and Surrey County Council. The event promoted the benefits of tree planting and the incentives available to support this. I have an excellent working knowledge of FC incentives and regulation from both the customer and regulator perspectives. This provides me with good insight to effectively inform owners and agents on incentives available and the associated regulations. Understanding these grants helps me plan and understand timescales and obstacles, predict issues and support colleagues to overcome challenges. With over 11 years of experience in advising landowners, I have gained knowledge of both woodland creation and management. In addition, I have a wider understanding of land management including sustainable farming practices, agroforestry and the management and protection of habitats. This knowledge has enabled me to provide a spectrum of advice and support to owners, agents and my team enabling estates to take an integrated approach to their management.
