In addition to my day-to-day duties, I am also responsible for:• Developing and quantifying transport infrastructure design models in the strategic planning, concept, development, and implementation phases of an overarching framework for the delivery of projects.• Managing and undertaking key components of the planning and design function for transport infrastructure projects to achieve successful completion within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.• Ensuring that planning and design principles are implemented in accordance with the relevant policies, standards, guidelines and legislation, and that quality management procedures are adhered to.• Implementing the most suitable design process for project delivery, including investigating, analysing and conceptualising possible design options to meet project objectives.• Assisting with the review of transport infrastructure design drawings and documentation provided by external design consultancies.• Providing technical advice and support in relation to planning and design processes for transport infrastructure projects. This can encompass corridor planning, program development, delivery and, finalisation.• Developing effective relations with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address needs, expectations and issues that may affect the successful delivery of projects.

• Carrying out complex rural and urban three-dimensional design models including roadworks, earthworks, drainage, services etc. using specialist computer design packages such as 12D, and AutoCAD • Attending Project management meetings and input on the design component of projects• Conducting various design activities including hydraulic analyses, traffic analyses, the development of geometric configurations, the development of environmental and management measures for planning, design and construction phases• Producing detailed engineering drawings

Duties as outlined in the role above, with the addition of:• Managing internal contractors undertaking work within DTMR• Involvement in high level design team discussions including; resourcing, project briefings and project status updates.• Technical support of other designers within the team.• Review and mark-up of civil designs and drawings.• Project managing a variety of maintenance and signage projects

• Liaising with clients, as well as government officials including councils and the Department of Transport and Main Roads• Adhering to tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality design and drafting standards• Managing teams on a day to day basis to ensure they are completing the required tasks set out for them.• Mentoring and manage the draftsperson to ensure a high standard of work is being produced• Developing basic AutoCad and 12d drafting and design standards for the company• Producing road and stormwater drainage designs in accordance with appropriate standards
