In this role, I assisted senior mechanical and control engineers in building a complete custom CNC machine including precision motion components, electrical design and wiring, and CNC/PMC programming. This role included the design and integration of subassemblies within the machine as we completed troubleshooting and process development.

Through these projects, I developed a proficiency in identifying design obstacles and solving problems through iteration. At Cadence I acquired valuable skills in project management and efficient timeline punctuality. Alongside these management skills, I worked productively with the engineering department on each of these projects to ensure rapid and thorough completion of project milestones. I learned the value of collaboration between engineering team members through observing and participating in several process development meetings.

Responsibilities included ensuring shipments were sent or received in an orderly and timely fashion, and reorganizing shelf stock to allow workers to find a given product quickly and effectively. While at Hovis Auto & Truck Supply, I gained an understanding of the relationship between manufacturer, distributor, seller, and final user of a product, and the requirements of each to reduce cost and time to each member of the supply chain. I experienced the demands of a distributor to meet time and shipping constraints, and the measures taken to complete these processes properly and efficiently.
