Over the 6 years I have been working I have worked as a janitor, a fast food worker, and an after school care teacher. I have completed my Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance at an accredited school and received my official certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Through working, school, and clinical hours I have found that I have great people skills, active listening, problem solving, customer service, critical thinking, interpersonal skills and teamwork, and competency in all fields I have worked. Some skills I am good with yet continuing to learn through work opportunities include time management, organization, leadership roles, and collaboration. A handful of the achievements I have been awarded include the Jean W. Iles scholarship, Chick-fil-A Leadership scholarship for 2 years, certification in occupational therapy assistance, over 5 years service in children ministries through church, and holding student government positions in high school and college. Lastly, I have completed 2 full-time 8 week rotations for occupational therapy assistance. The first rotation I attended was a pediatric clinic for speech, physical, and occupational therapy called Speak Easy Solutions. I learned how to organize my time and personal space to better help the children I was providing therapy to stay focused and retain the information given. The second rotation that I attended was a neurological rehabilitation assisted and transitional living facility called NeuLife Rehab. I learned to provide exceptional client centered care for those with TBI, SCI, and many other cognitive and physical setbacks. Also, I honed my interpersonal and teamwork skills, adaptability, time management, and leadership skills.
