About Luke Sims

As Aurizon's Track Manager for South Australia and Northern Territory I have responsibility for the maintenance of 3,000+km of track, ensuring we can move freight seamlessly across the network for distribution across the country. After moving across to Adelaide in early 2023 I was Project Manager (Civil & Infrastructure) at McMahon Services Australia, focused on delivering exceptional outcomes and exceeding client expectations whilst driving an inclusive and safe working culture for everyone on site.Prior to my move, I was Production Manager of Overhead Maintenance at Metro Trains Melbourne, managing resourcing, planning, and scheduling activities to deliver MTM's Technical Maintenance Plan and ensure Melburnians get safely from A to B. I have worked across almost the entire scope of the rail industry in some way, shape or form in a short period of time, including; rolling stock maintenance, project management, engineering, safety, signal delivery, asset management, and network operations and performance. My passion is transportation and engineering, and finding the points where these fields intersect to provide Australian communities with access to safe and reliable transportation and services. My career is defined by living this passion and continually developing my knowledge in these fields.
