Develop and implement Composition and Research curriculum in the college classroom (freshman English)Work closely with students to improve skills relevant to the composition and research process Monitor current developments in composition curriculum theory.Assist Basic Writing instructors in their classroomsDevelop curriculum for supplemental Basic Writing instruction classes held four times a weekAssist students in the classroom in order to improve their written communication skillsResearch methods of instruction for Basic Writing (including theories concerning English as a Second Language (ESL), learning differences, the effects of socioeconomic factors on written discourse, and the ways in which composition skills develop)Assist as a tutor in the University Writing Center, working with a diverse student population in regards to issues with the composition process and the ways in which the process is integrated in various disciplines within the university setting
