I am a qualified chartered accountant working in the International Accounting team in Figma. Previously, I spent three and a half years in the “Consumer Technology Business” audit department of Deloitte Ireland where I worked predominantly with the firm’s privately owned businesses, both family and private equity backed, in Ireland and the UK. This involved acting as senior and coordinating both small and large multi-location audit engagements across a diverse portfolio of clients from a broad range of sectors including pharmaceutical, telecommunications, manufacturing, construction and engineering, retail, wholesale and distribution, and real estate. This experience has allowed me to gain a detailed understanding of the application of financial reporting frameworks including IFRS and Irish and UK GAAP, along with a strong knowledge of internal controls and business processes.Prior to joining Deloitte, I attended Dublin City University where I obtained a First Class Honours degree in both the B.A. in Accounting and Finance, and the MSc in Accounting. The latter involved conducting a detailed literature review of John Burns and Robert W. Scapens’ institutional framework of management accounting change as part of a research project. I also have experience of lecturing and presenting on a range of topics including financial accounting/reporting and management accounting on behalf of DCU as part of my masters degree. Additionally, I have delivered and led a number of audit case days to university masters students as part of graduate recruitment initiatives.
