•Served as a trusted finance and strategy business partner to the Corporate Vice President of Operations in the Midwest region. •Oversaw the financial performance and OGSMs of 1,500 points of care, including drug stores, retail clinics, home care facilities and worksite pharmacies. •Developed and prepared quarterly reporting of chain-wide geographic market performance for the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. •Facilitated 20 to 30 person in-market finance / strategy review meetings with district managers and pharmacy supervisors. •Conceptualized and implemented a performance management framework for the drug store division, including processes for goal setting, feedback, reviews and linkages to employee compensation. •Developed and implemented a Balanced Scorecard, a strategic planning and management system used to align field level business activities to the vision and strategy of the organization. •Redesigned the incentive compensation plan for the Market Vice President position to align with the Balanced Scorecard. •Conducted quarterly business reviews of the Market Vice Presidents and Market Pharmacy Directors.

•Worked closely with consultants from Booz & Co. and Equaterra on the BPO of Walgreens transactional accounting services. •Assisted in the preparation of the business case for outsourcing the company’s transactional accounting services, including a detailed pricing analysis comparing the returns associated with each service provider. •Participated in a series of collaborative reviews of vendor solution documents, statements of work, transition plans, pricing methodologies and service level agreements. •Assisted in the preparation of in-bound due diligence materials. •Participated in the contracting process by attending meetings for scope finalization, RFP & MSA development, MSA negotiations and vendor evaluations. •Worked closely with consultants from Booz & Co. on the identification of corporate HQ work that could be eliminated or redesigned to achieve headquarter cost saving targets. •Collaborated with executive management to obtain buy-in and determine options for future organizational design.

•Applied broad knowledge of Company processes in evaluating internal controls and developed recommendations for departments under audit. •Consulted with management in planning, organizing, and directing auditing activities including which records and activities to analyze, extent of tests to apply and work papers to be prepared. •Independently evaluated audit findings, drew conclusions, prepared oral and written reports and recommended corrective action to management. •Conceptualized, designed and implemented a proprietary audit management software application currently in use by Walgreen Company’s Internal Audit department.
