Lead the Operational Support team in the delivery of department policy, operational procedures and airfield/airport contingencies, the control and management of airfield works, the monitoring and improvement of department performance and the delivery of all projects and continuous improvement activities. Maintain stakeholder relationships with Civil and Systems Engineering, National Air Traffic Services as well as acting as a subject matter expert in Airfield Operations, Emergency and Contingency planning across multiple work streams for internal and external stakeholders.Achievements• Implementation of Quality Management System within Airfield Operations, including circa 110 processes/procedures.• Business lead and successful adoption of TETRA radio for Airside.• Development of a breadth of contingency plans: MTFA, Hijack, Mass Casualty, Loss of Facilities etc.• Airside Lead for a number of high profile of events; Loss of AGL, Loss of tunnel network, COVID-19 response• Improvements in both the safety and management of Airfield Works including new procedures, technology and governance• Delivery of over 150 safety or audit improvement actions (requiring changes to processes, equipment, behaviours etc…)

Responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient airfield operation through the effective management of the Airside Operations team to ensure delivery of the operation in all conditions. As the most senior operational manager on duty, represent the executive leadership team when not available or on an on-call basis. In addition to the role, fulfill the responsibility of Airport Silver in the incident command structure and act as a designated member of the DfT Threat Assessment team.Achievements• Delivery of the wildlife and habitat management programme for airside.• Delivery of the CAA to EASA certification change process (including the implantation of a quality management system)• Accreditation as Senior firearms licence holder with full compliance to all MPS standards and recommend practices

Providing support to air traffic services in the tower and radar operational positions, liaising with and on behalf of other controllers with adjacent air traffic control units and area centres. Responsible for the management of flight data, flight planning, aircraft parking and aircraft slots as well as the promulgation of meteorological observations. Further to the role I acted as an operational trainer, document controller, lead for contingency facilities and safety ambassador for general aviation airfields.
