Naval Architect
CurrentInitially hired in a production engineering role as a graduate I have been involved in several areas of the LHD project as well a few minor projects on the side. I am currently part of the Platform Engineering group as a Naval Architect for the LHD project. My role is mainly liaising with the customer and Lloyd’s Register to meet ship safety and performance requirements. I was also fortunate enough to participate in the final 2 week sea acceptance trials for ship 1 and the inclining experiment. The side projects include dry docking commercial and Navy vessels in our yard, through life support of ANZAC frigates for the RAN and start-up phases of bids for new projects. As part of these I have performed the docking calculations and supported the docking process for several vessels. I have also conducted through-life weight surveys and incline experiments of several ANZAC frigates.
