Luke Simpson is the 3rd generation family member to lead the CANA Group of Companies. Having first joined the organization as a teenager – working as a labourer pushing a broom and pouring concrete during the summer – he has grown to learn and understand the workings of the construction business. In September 2018, with twenty years of experience in a variety of operational, supervisory, and executive leadership roles within the organization, Luke assumed the office of President for the CANA Group of Companies. As the President of the CANA Group of Companies, Luke’s focus is on growing the business and maintaining its reputation as a “contractor of choice” in the Calgary and surrounding area business community. Luke is actively leading a cultural transformation across the organization with an initial emphasis on accountability, a common language and situational leadership framework, and adopting and following the “CANA” way. To assist him with this initiative, he has promoted a Director of Leadership and Development whose sole focus is to develop and continuously improve the organization’s people and leaders at all levels. The CANA Group of Companies is comprised of over 21 legal entities and is actively engaged in commercial, industrial and institutional construction, renovations and refurbishments as a commercial general contractor, as well as offering a full range of Engineering, Procurement, Construction services in the high voltage and utility sector. In addition, the Group is involved in commercial real estate development and investment, as well as other ancillary businesses.
