Undertaking virtual imaging clinics, including medical retina (AMD/Retinopathy/Naevus/General), glaucoma, vitreo retinal, uveitis and more. Recognising various eye conditions and their severity within each sub specialism. Triaging patients accordingly for timely assessment and management by a specialist.
Wet Amd - Oct Technician
Patient facing. Managing the clinic environment and performing OCT scans (Optical Coherence Tomograpghy) for patients with wet macular degeneration. Other eye conditions maybe detected and are managed accordingly. Checking visual acuity, patient IOP's (intra ocular pressures), in-putting patient medications, allergies, eye prescriptions. Monitor graders performance through reviewing and feedback of EQA test and training outcomes. Undertake annual appraisals for team members. Monitor grading queues ensuring patients are safely navigated through the care pathways within national standard time frames. Responsible for the upkeep and management of programme equipment ensuring technical maintenance policies are followed. Maintaining staff rota's, assisting with administration tasks.

Medical Imaging UK LTD took over the contract from The Paula Carr DESP, we then became Emis Care who bought out Medical Imaging. Working as part of a large team and nationwide organisation to help patients with the prevention of sight loss and life threatening conditions. Managing the eye clinic environment for patients being screened, providing the care and reassurance required. Imaging the retina for sight threatening eye disease caused by diabetes. Grading and assessing retinal images, identifying the levels of disease, pathology and/or other eye disease and health conditions.
