Performing biometry measures of the eye (axial length, keratometry and topography readings) for the cataract service. Use of oculyzer and topilyzer for support of special IOL's and refractive laser services. Checking patient visual acuity, intra ocular pressures, in-putting patient medications, allergies, surgical history, previous eye conditions, histories including surgical, family, social. Checking optometrist prescriptions and obtaining manual/auto refractions where necessary. Working alongside consultant ophthalmologists in providing pre-assessment for patients requiring cataract surgery.

Ophthalmic and Research Photographer, externally certified, performing fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography, optical coherence tomography, colour fundus, stereo and ultra-widefield imaging both clinically and for Research/Study purposes. Triaging patients accordingly for timely assessment and management by a specialist. Developing the ability to review patients within the Hospital Eye Service Virtual Ophthalmic Diabetic Review and Choroidal Naevus pathways. Presenting, and delivering case study's for team audit purposes and training. Responsible for the up keep and maintenance of camera equipment and occasionally other ophthalmic devices.

Delivering patient centred care within the hospital eye service. Working with ophthalmic consultants, specialists, associates and nurses to support and treat patients with varying and complicated eye conditions. I perform ophthalmic imaging including fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography, optical coherence tomography, fundus imaging, ultra widefield imaging, and corneal topography. Undertaking virtual imaging clinics, including medical retina (AMD/Retinopathy/Naevus/General), glaucoma, vitreo retinal, uveitis and more. Recognising various eye conditions and their severity within each sub specialism. Triaging patients accordingly for timely assessment and management by a specialist.

Patient facing. Managing the clinic environment and performing OCT scans (Optical Coherence Tomograpghy) for patients with wet macular degeneration. Other eye conditions maybe detected and are managed accordingly. Checking visual acuity, patient IOP's (intra ocular pressures), in-putting patient medications, allergies, eye prescriptions. Working with and alongside consultant ophthalmologists in providing the best possible care to patients.

Grading eye disease through Fundus Imaging and Optical Coherence Topography. Providing support to the Diabetic Eye Screening Programme Manager with training and development of the Screening & Grading Team. Assisting with team co-ordination and programme performance improvements. Providing induction and training to all new staff members locally and in other teams when necessary. Monitor graders performance through reviewing and feedback of EQA test and training outcomes. Undertake annual appraisals for team members. Monitor grading queues ensuring patients are safely navigated through the care pathways within national standard time frames. Responsible for the upkeep and management of programme equipment ensuring technical maintenance policies are followed. Maintaining staff rota's, assisting with administration tasks.

Medical Imaging UK LTD took over the contract from The Paula Carr DESP, we then became Emis Care who bought out Medical Imaging. Working as part of a large team and nationwide organisation to help patients with the prevention of sight loss and life threatening conditions. Managing the eye clinic environment for patients being screened, providing the care and reassurance required. Imaging the retina for sight threatening eye disease caused by diabetes. Grading and assessing retinal images, identifying the levels of disease, pathology and/or other eye disease and health conditions.

Through this period of time, our eye screening programme was under The Paula Carr Trust with East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. Working as part of a large team to help patients with the prevention of sight loss, blindness and life threatening conditions. Managing the eye clinic environment for patients being screened, providing the care and reassurance required. Imaging the retina for sight threatening eye disease caused by diabetes.

General management responsibilities including opening and closing the leisure facility, staff motivation, ensuring there was a congenial atmosphere for clientele, stock taking, petty cash and banking. Managing a small team whilst on duty or coaching as a team member. Further duties ranged from tending to the bar, serving customers and organising events and parties. Also keep health and safety records pertaining to maintenance, defects and fire alarm testing.
