Working as a specialist calibration engineer on gasoline and diesel engine programs for a global product portfolio, specialising in the area of fuel injection/supply systems, cold start and emissions control and fuel economy. My tasks require the following skills:• Problem solving and root-cause analysis of combustion engines and their complex control systems and actuators. Specialising in hybrid powertrains and predictive hybrid operation strategies using forecasted road data and sensors. My tasks required the following skills:• Development of detailed powertrain simulation models including combustion engine, transmission, generator/electric drive, vehicle dynamics• Development and testing of hybrid vehicle controllers to optimise the torque split and combustion engine operation in a variety of hybrid platforms, e.g. Parallel, series, axel split• Testing and refinement of combustion engine control software models in a simulation environment to reduce calibration effort.• Using detailed engine models including fluid/thermo dynamics and predictive combustion models to anticipate potential of new technologies regarding power, fuel consumption and emissions• Studies of vehicle thermal systems (waste heat / cooling systems) to develop products and strategies to optimise energy consumption• Vehicle testing to validate simulation models and realisation of development ideas through rapid prototyping hardware and software. • Collaboration across multiple functions within Bosch and with customers locally and abroad
