Hi, I'm Luke! I'm an Industrial Designer from Adelaide, South Australia.My experience is centered around the automotive OE and aftermarket industry. I have worked on components for the top levels of motorsport including Formula 1, MotoGP and WRC, and developed innovative products for worldwide sale through both my own business, and in my work at ARB Corporation. I am experienced with CAD modelling, rendering, Adobe Suite, rapid prototyping, international suppliers and customer liaision, low/high volume manufacturing methods, and process improvement. As a serial perfectionist, I'm always looking to further develop and broaden my skillset, striving to be smarter than yesterday!

Industrial DesignerArb Smartbar Australia Apr 2023 - PresentLonsdale, South Australia, AustraliaAs a passionate Industrial Designer, I was very fortunate to become a part of the design team at ARB Smartbar, which has allowed me the opportunity to combine my creative design skills with my previous experience in the automotive space.My role covers the entire product development process, beginning with initial concept sketching to determine all aesthetic and functional considerations, detailed parametric and surface modelling on CAD, and drawing of components for mass production via both steel fabrication and polyethylene rotational moulding.I am also responsible for creation of detailed illustrated product fitting instructions, liasing with international suppliers, interstate company departments and production staff, ensuring products are released successfully to market and can be produced and assembled as time and cost-efficiently as possible.So far, I have spearheaded the development of ARB SmartBar's new Under Vehicle Armour to suit the Toyota Hilux/ Fortuner- which has seen worldwide export, with several other exciting projects underway. -

Mechanical DesignerMilford Industries Sep 2022 - May 2023Camden Park, South Australia, AustraliaMy role at Milford consisted of the design development of automotive accessories for both OEM and aftermarket.I engaged in various responsibilities at Milford, including design of complete assemblies using both OEM supplied and 3D scan data, designing bumper cut templates for dealership towbar installers, liaising with suppliers domestically and overseas, producing detailed engineering drawings for mass production, preparation of rendered CAD images for marketing purposes and updating a library of warning labels to meet current Australian Standards. -
Mechanical DesignerPwr Advanced Cooling Technology Nov 2021 - Jul 2022Gold Coast, Queensland, AustraliaMy time at PWR was a great opportunity to learn and grow, working on projects for Formula 1, MotoGP, Le Mans cars and GT race teams as well as Aerospace and Defence. My role consisted of designing complex surface modelled fixturing allowing the manufacture of billet components for cooling system assemblies. Other responsibilites included production of detailed engineering drawings and documentation in-line with AS9100, design of various workshop equipment, liasing with CNC Programmers and Engineers to maximise ease of manufacture for each component, and creation of a detailed handbook to guide new designers through job processes in a standardised format.I was also fortunate enough to be promoted to design complete weld jig assemblies for Formula 1 cooling assemblies, however unfortunately had to return home to Adelaide for personal reasons shortly after.
