Beginning in the heavy equipment industries at 16 years old has given me a unique and broad set of abilities and experiences. Hired as a "Go-Fur" and the "Yard Guy", I quickly attached myself to a hand-full of older, well-seasoned men that taught me the old ways of heavy haul and specialized transportation. The 3 Keys were easy: 1) the customer knows what he wants- but not always how to get it done; 2) your equipment is only as good as the maintenance and the operator; and 3) the customer's job is YOUR job- respect it like it's the only one on the schedule. In a couple of short years, I had been placed in a position to plan and design routing and fixtures to handle the oddest transportation challenges in the tri-state area. Over the next few years, I was proud to have been a key leader for some of the most bizarre transportation challenges that the Chattanooga Area had to offer. The transition was nearly seamless to speacilized machinery moving from specialized machinery transport. Since becoming a part of the Dalrymple Rigging and A1 Hevi-Lift team, I have enjoyed bringing my individual experiences to bear on the challenges we face in moving precision equipment in very restrictive environments, as well as the logistical challenges inheriant in a growing and thriving specialized rental company.
