Since 2016, I have been working in a variety of roles (most recently Festival Director) with the Gurindji community in the remote heart of the Northern Territory to help deliver the annual Freedom Day Festival.Freedom Day is one of the most unique (and remote) festival experiences Australia has to offer. The Thin Green Line Foundation is the world’s only charity solely dedicated to protecting endangered species and threatened ecosystems by supporting Park Rangers and their families.In the past 10 years alone it's estimated that over 1,000 Park Rangers have been killed in the line of duty - a large percentage of them by commercial poachers and armed militia groups. The Thin Green Line Foundation provides Park Rangers with essential anti-poaching equipment and training to assist them in patrolling on the front-line of conservation. After a year, I was made Armaguard’s official liaison with the Reserve Bank of Australia, directly overseeing the transfer/delivery of billions in cash, and managing large teams of armed guards and fleets of armed vehicles.
