Do Something Different (DSD) creates online behavior change programmes for companies, communities and individuals. Initially working with DSD through the Sussex Innovation Centre's Catalyst Scheme, I was taken on full time to support all aspects of business development; bringing in new clients and exploring and researching new markets.I greatly enjoyed the opportunity to work within both the Sales and Marketing aspects of the business by placing content as a key driver of new business.As such my role encompassed a wide variety of responsibilities including: Lead generation, CRM and database management, lead nurture, content creation, co-ordination of E-mail marketing campaigns and supporting offline marketing efforts such as events and trade shows.

The Catalyst scheme is a pioneering initiative which offers the services of a group of Sussex University graduates to high-growth, start-up and entrepreneurial businesses through the Sussex Innovation Centre.The Catalyst scheme was a unique and hugely valuable experience for me. I had the opportunity to work with 11 innovative businesses on a wide ranging set of projects. Through the later stages of my time with Catalyst I split my week between two clients: Insight Agents, a corporate and brand storytelling agency and Do Something Different (see above).Joining Catalyst in its first year, I also worked hard to help create and raise awareness of the brand within the wider student and business community both in Brighton and at the newly opened business hub in Croydon.

I first worked with the RFU as Club Captain of the Men’s rugby team at Sussex University, and after graduating was asked to continue working with them to contribute to the continued development of university rugby in the county of Sussex in the build up to the 2015 Rugby World Cup. This position was designed to develop grass roots participation in university rugby and foster improved university, community and RFU partnerships. I placed a great emphasis on introducing student volunteers into the local community. In this time I was also employed to coach Sussex University Men’s 1st Team.The highlights of my work included: Highlights included:creating a ‘Problems-Solutions’ booklet for club committee members which was implemented nationally, securing funded student travel, promotion and growth of ‘Merit League’ and creating forums for club development.
