Recognising huge inefficiencies and a large gap in the market, I have bound together with a number of co-engineers to create a company centered around a modern take on how brands connect with their customers. We have designed and engineered an entirely new scalable SaaS platform, incorporating highly efficient techniques that allow your brand to stay relevant and engaging to your customers and staff. This is achieved in part by reducing the time taken to get your message infront of your customers from months down to seconds, automatically. Additionally the entire system and infrastructure has been designed with reduced maintenance and onboarding costs.A true self serve SaaS platform, utilising modern methods, tools, AI, and a few really nice algorithms. With its industry agnostic design, this greatly simplifies yet also supercharges the creative generation, display, and interaction for your brand messaging.

Initially brought on to maintain a small single server & single client product, I quickly took the initiative to co-design and co-engineer with my offshore teammate an entire scalable platform and the supporting infrastructure in a highly modular way. This enabled the rapid addition of features, supported the company's very random and agile sales methodology, and the swift onboarding of additional engineers. The platform gained the attention and praise of multinational brands, and enabled the company to support 10x the staff numbers and secure significant funding to become the agency model that it is today.The platform ended up becoming a large 50+ server installation within AWS, with a highly complex shared storage model to allow for rapid deployment, and separation of dev/staging/test environments. With uneven funding overheads, it was designed with drastically reduced development, maintenance, and cloud costs in mind. This proved itself with the platform entirely engineered and maintained for 5 years by just two of us, supporting hundreds of concurrent clients at its peak.

Designed and built the full IT infrastructure from the ground up, consisting of onsite Desktops, Amazon servers, and VPNs to link it all together - all with a high security focus to prevent intrusion and complywith complex privacy laws. This also included the implementation of an automated encrypted offsite backup system.An additional requirement was to design and engineer a full platform to monitor and track clients. This was implemented in a modular and white-labelled way with a full multi-environment supporting infrastructure within AWS. This platform incorporated multiple software solutions as one unified login experience, heavily featuring a built-in LMS and SCORM system with tracking. With the truly remote nature of the business, the entire system was designed to be responsive.The whole platform and associated infrastructure was designed with a handover in mind due to the unreliable nature of company funding, so all systems and development methods followed a common approach to ease any possible hibernation and handover period.

Implemented Linux VM server to retire ageing servers for accounting, development and testing. Improved Exonet from from 2003 server to 2012R2. Maintenance and backup strategies for OS X Server, including complex bash scripts. Supported Apple Desktops, Phones, and Tablets. Implemented pfSense router with dual lines and load limiting to ease bottlenecks for staff. Replaced ageing network infrastructure. Support of end users with product queries. Maintained assets database for hardware & software. Incorporated Nagios monitoring system for the internal network devices.

Concept & Development of Cloud based Startup with accompanying embedded Linux players & mobile app, developed to address both my own and client concerns of the current set of digital signage products. Designed & maintained cluster server arrangement & backup system, with later transfer over to Amazon EC2 instances. Continued support of clients & legacy software products created for previous employer.

A new Social Network encompassing all facets of Web Development from the setup of the Linux servers & shell scripts, to the complex mix of PHP, JavaScript & CSS. Built using codeigniter as a base, and a heavily modified Dojo framework. Multiple custom tools developed to assist other employees with their work. Implemented custom application to create extensive media library via API integration with Flickr.

Filled a void where technical & graphic teams were previously unable to convey tasks. Heavily involved in new product concept development, and BAU tasks related to desktop support & systems administration. Design & development of two commercially successful digital signage products (FlexiFi Suite, and FlexiFi v2) from concept to production. Implementation of processes to increase product deployments, along with construction of intranets and network infrastructure for support. Refinement of networking & servers to reduce costs & network downtime.

Technical support for ~600 Desktops, PDAs & Laptops. Creation of large Linux thin-client lab, Repaired laptops & desktops, Created Staff/Student notices intranet, Simplified network cabling via managed switches.

Technical support for ~100 desktops. Administration of Mac & PC network. Construction of two computer labs. Aided in getting multiple desktops to every classroom. Assisted with Library database. Combined all system images for simpler deployment and maintenance. Increased internet speeds via Squid proxy.

Design & development of websites for various businesses in the greater Cairns region, including 3d icons, logos, actionscript & custom Javascript work. Side projects included custom Linux installs.

Online searchable business directory developed with Perl & other shell scripting. Sole technician involved in all aspects from concept, server installation & management, and technical support for clients.
