Canon are the world’s leading imaging brand offering business products such as multi-function devices, consumer electronic products, medical products and leasing services. With a focus on diversification, Canon Oceania acquired Harbour IT in 2014 and Converga in 2015 to add IT services and Business Process services to the regional customer offering. Canon Oceania has almost 3000 staff across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. As the Chief Information Officer, reporting to the Managing Director, I am a member of Canon’s Executive team leading our execution in the region to deliver more than our customers expect. I am also accountable for the definition and delivery of Canon’s regional technology and business transformation capability, managing an operating budget of over $30 million. My team of 80 across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines spans a broad accountability including core Information Technology, Information Security, Digital Services, Corporate Portfolio Management, Organisational Change Management, Business Process Improvement and Acquisition Integration.- Accountability for the corporate wide portfolio and program office, leading corporate change initiatives- Led the M&A for diversification and the integration of those organisations- Led Canon’s transformation including ERP replacement, customer engagement platforms, customer ordering (EDI), reengineering all business processes.- Active membership in the Canon Global IT Executive Leadership- Leading the Digital Services team, accountable for customer facing Digital technology services- Established a successful application outsourcing agreement with Oakton in India, improving service levels, lowering cost, and establishing a more flexible application delivery model to meet changing business needs- Led transformation to a high performance activity based work environment across three locations

Due to sustained high performance and trust in my delivery I was chartered with the delivery of Canon’s most strategic business transformation initiatives. Reporting to the Managing Director with a program budget of $10 million. This was a complex transformation that required effective negotiation and cross business relationships to make a difference.- Established a new online business to consumer channel (store.canon.com.au) to deliver increased revenue and profit- Launched Canon’s Managed Documents Solutions systems and processes, enabling Canon to grow as a solutions business.- Implemented new sales automation processes and a new CRM (Salesforce.com) to provide a single view of the customer. - Introducing streamlined order management processes and systems to allow for integrated orders to flow from quote to ship.- Transitioned Canon’s HR Management System to a cloud based solution, including embedding learning and performance management systems and methodologies company wide.

Reporting to the Senior General Manager IT and Business Excellence, I was accountable for the architecture, partner relationships, IT portfolio management, infrastructure and application services for Canon Australia. A member of the senior leadership team with accountability for the delivery of IT services to Canon Australia.- Due to historical poor investment in IT, Canon’s IT group was not able to deliver stable and dependable services to the business. I successfully outsourced infrastructure services to achieve an increase in service levels to the business and a stabilisation of the core infrastructure platforms. Service levels and customer satisfaction increased dramatically. - Merged Canon Australia and Canon New Zealand IT teams, reducing NZ IT costs by 15%. This also resulted in an increase of internal customer satisfaction of IT services by 22% within 3 months.- Managed the technology program to retire legacy IT infrastructure and implement a standardised Microsoft platform. This was a key change to allow for effective outsourcing.- Established an integration platform to reduce Canon’s reliance on the legacy Oracle platform to drive business agility and reduce IT costs.
