I edit EIRMA Insights, a new way for Europe's leading networking organisation for senior industrial R&D practitioners to share their knowledge and experience. Each EIRMA Insight is based upon presentations and discussions at one of the Association's 12 meetings a year, distilled into a briefing document that lays out the issues and offers practical advice based on practitioners' experience. I co-founded this membership publication on R&D and innovation management for EIRMA, Europe's leading association for senior R&D professionals. The publication is constantly evolving, having moved successfully from print to web after six editions.

I managed the communications sector coverage of Engineering & Technology, the flagship publication of the IET. I looked at mobile, broadband, satellite and wired networks, and am interested in both the way the technology is evolving, and the way it is enabling new forms of interaction and new applications.

I was a principal semiconductor analyst at Gartner Dataquest, providing insight and advice to clients on developments in the market for semiconductor intellectual property, custom and application-specific integrated circuits.

I spent four years as Editor-in-Chief of Electronics Times, a weekly newspaper for the UK professional electronics industry, managing a team of 20 and a six-figure (GBP) budget, responsible for the paper coming out on time, its content and development.During this time I also helped develop the world's first conference on semiconductor intellectual property, which debuted in Silicon Valley in March 1997. The conference ran twice a year, alternating between Silicon Valley and Europe, throughout my time as editor.
