An experienced graphic and website designer. Since graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Multimedia, Luke has spent his entire career successfully combining both these roles alongside website development. Luke is as equally comfortable designing in Adobe Creative Suite as he is developing in WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MYSQL, JavaScript, Query, Java and more.After enjoying the first few years of his career at Johnston Press Plc (The Halifax Courier), Luke progressed to the Dean Clough based Marketing Agency, Cherry Design & Marketing as Senior Designer. In 2009 this role developed into a partnership to launch a local voucher publication and website before finally morphing into Luke Crawford Design in 2011. Luke Crawford Design became Crawford Designworks in January 2019 when Luke's brother joined the business.

I joined Luddenden Youth Centre as a Specialist ICT Tutor in 2001 after completing my degree. My main responsibilities are to manage and maintain the centres Cyber Café and support young people wishing to use the cyber café for general use or in support of school work and other projects. Over the years my role has become more involved in the centre as a whole and i'm regularly involved in general youth work including sports and activities, discussions and other youth work activities.

In late 2008, along with business partner Michael Dobson I formed a new company as a conventional design agency providing graphic and web design services. Soon after launching, we came up with an new product and launched SmartLocal Vouchers which was a free voucher book publication starting with one book in June 2009. The launch was a success and quickly grew to six books by Spring 2010, covering the Calderdale and Kirklees areas and delivering 120,000 books per issue. The product was backed up by www.smartlocalvouchers.co.uk which provided an online source for everything offered in the voucher books. This role required me to learn new skills in running a business and handling all the challenges that all small businesses face from cash flow to hiring staff.

Working under the Creative Director, the role allowed me to work on some larger graphic and web projects and work closely with clients. The role also involved managing of the design studio's day to day workloads, allocating jobs and overseeing part-time and freelance designers.

Starting as a Graphic Designer before being promoted to a dual Graphic & Web Design role in June 2002, my responsibilities included managing the Halifax Courier Group websites, plus design and maintenance of client websites. Other roles included working closely with clients, project management, advertisement design, promotional design, corporate ID, publication and internet advertisement design. The eight years at the company allowed me to gain a wealth of experience in all areas of design as well as to develop skills in time, project and client management. As part of the role I achieved the highest grade in the companies personal development plan.
