I had the privilege of holding a multifaceted role, where I was responsible for creating comprehensive strategies, systems, and processes. In addition, I managed an annual budget of £500k+ and oversaw auditing and regular reporting to the trustees. I directly supervised and led a diverse staff team, while continually driving innovation in all aspects of HR and governance to ensure ongoing development. I implemented organisational change by developing systems, policies and processes, elevating operations to a standard of excellence whilst prioritising the well-being of each individual impacted.

My work within this role included providing the strategic management of the staff team, financial oversight, governance, HR and the church calendar of activity. Alongside pastoral care and shepherding all team leaders, community group leads and volunteers towards set goals. Teaching within classes, leading worship services and creating content for mid-week groups. Establishing systems, processes and policies to move the church to a place of operational excellence, whilst prioritising the health of each individual in the church.

Hand-picked to establish the East Africa Alpha hub in Kenya, which successfully now operates as the centre of excellence for the six additional EA based Alpha regional offices. The year-long project saw me establish and hire for a physical office, build-out then manage operational teams and processes within a fast-moving organisation, train the wider Alpha Africa team and establish donor relations setting up the hub for long term success. I was tasked with driving a culture of innovation, simplicity and agility through the organisation in both East and South Africa.Alpha International is a Christian charity (alpha.org) that helps 80,000 churches and organisations around the world to run the Alpha Course (a series of interactive sessions to explore the Christian faith). The course has been translated into 112 different languages and is running in 169 countries. To date, 27 million people have been on an Alpha.

Working alongside churches across the UK to coach and deliver evangelism strategies within their specific areas. Specific areas of this role that I thoroughly enjoyed, included the line management of the regional staff team, developing and implementing the UK wide growth strategy, cultivating relationships with UK churches and working alongside various Alpha European regional offices.

Working towards retention marketing strategies and development of marketing collateral as part of the Compassion UK marketing team. Main duties included; (1) Creating copy for a wide range of elements including financial reports, social media and newsletters, (2) assisting in the creation of events marketing materials, (3) creating comprehensive marketing briefs and liaising with an external agency and (4) proofing all copy for all communication channels.

The role saw me put into place all I was learning within my degree, from speaking to 200+ people about the student experience at the University to the management of the transition project. This role gave me many skills, namely the ability to give direction and manage a large number of people within a professional environment.

I spent the summer working at a Christian summer camp in the USA, at Spring Heights Camp and Retreat Center. I held the position of camp counsellor, which entailed being the guardian of up to seven campers at any one time, ranging from ages three to eighteen, twenty-four hours a day. This role helped me to gain extreme team working skills, showed I could be fully committed to such an intense role and thrive within such a demanding work environment.

The Lincoln Business Society had 100 members when I took over as Vice President, growing to 300 members resulting in us being nominated for the Lincoln Students Union Society of the year award 2013. As a Society we aimed to provide business-related knowledge to the members; through a range of workshops and events. As Vice President, I managed the operations of the Society as a whole, implementing new ideas and securing sponsorship from national businesses.

My responsibilities focused around production management, including advertising the show, ticket sales, marketing, media enquiries and managing the finances of the CIC. Highlights included fully funding a production tour to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

I held the position of Entertainment Team Leader for the London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics. This role saw me manage a team of up to 10 on a daily basis, helping to manage crowd control and other various aspects of the Olympic games through entertainment. Managing a diverse team within an extremely high pressured environment, equipped me with skills I shall never lose and will always be grateful for.

I had a number of responsibilities ranging from working on a team coordinating events and conferences at the hotel to working within the hotel's five-star restaurant. It is here I first experienced vast operations in the context of a large global company.
