Orders of magnitude higher performance than most people considered possible.Boosted Linux/KVM ecosystem packet-processing performance ~100x to meet the extreme requirements of Deutsche Telekom's TeraStream project. First implemented with Snabb, then upstreamed across the QEMU/Libvirt/OpenStack ecosystem ("vhost-user"), finally adopted by Intel DPDK, Cisco VPP, etc.Developed custom high-performance device drivers for Intel/Mellanox 10G/25G/40G/100G network adapters. Collaborated with Mellanox to release a non-NDA edition of the ConnectX Programming Reference Manual (PRM.)

Teclo was acquired by Sandvine and our product became Sandvine TCP Accelerator.I started Teclo Networks and served as CTO while we developed a network appliance for optimizing TCP behavior over 3G/4G cellular networks. The product is based on a completely custom TCP/IP stack that can optimize traffic for millions of subscribers on a single server. It is typically deployed by large national ISPs.Teclo was a Lisp-hacker company ("Telco with CL") and we wrote our MVP with SBCL and then ported to C/C++ for production deployments.

I contributed to Alan Kay's STEPS project by writing low-level device drivers in an experimental Smalltalk dialect;I wrote the audio driver for the One Laptop Per Child XO 1.5 laptop firmware and I assisted with hardware bringup at Quanta in Taipei;I wrote a suite of device drivers for an ARM-based micro controller (LPC2129) for an embedded system;I volunteered in Kathmandu to support OLE Nepal with deploying of One Laptop Per Child laptops to schools.

I was an early employee and helped to make this Erlang startup company wildly successful. We built the most widely deployed Device Management product for mobile network operators i.e. we remotely installed the internet settings on a billion or so phones and SIM cards.

I worked with Joe Armstrong and other now-famous people at the first Erlang startup company. We built IP networking appliances around the dot-com era.
