After receiving first place in Duku's design competition, I was invited up to them in Cheltenham to gain valuable work experience. During my time there I was given the opportunity to further my competition entry aided by their facilities and the team’s valuable expertise. This included creating a design proposal which was reviewed by the directors; having regular meetings with the design team to make decisions on which direction the project should go when developing different ideas; using their facilities and digital fabrication methods to produce a visual prototype of the final design and final presenting the whole project to the company.

I volunteered to help run my local Scout Group in both the Beavers and Scout sections as a Young Leader. During my time helping in the weekly sessions I built up strong leadership and communications skills. Outside the sessions I was involved in the planning camps, hikes and other activities where I learnt how to plan and consider logistics to keep the Scouts safe and happy. I enjoyed the experience and giving back to an organisation which I have been a part of for 14 years and which has taught me hard work, maturity and always trying my best.
