Ready Set-Buffalo is a program focused around introducing University at Buffalo freshman and transfer students to the Buffalo community and foster relationships between new students. We look to do this by completing community service at local nonprofit agencies and explore Buffalo through sightseeing activities.• Developed team builder exercises and ice breaker events.• Conducting participant interviews and application evaluation.• Work closely with the student engagement office to develop itinerary.

After completing and excelling in classes such as general chemistry, organic chemistry, and statistics. I began tutoring students taking these courses during hour long sessions in both remote and in-person mediums. My goal of this role is to promote academic growth by helping students implement new study strategies and patterns.

I completed a ten-week summer internship in cancer studies within Dr. Katerina Gurova's lab under the mentorship of Denisha Robinson. My project looked at investigating type-1-interferon activation in response to chromatin damage. For this project, I had to learn wet lab skills including tissue-culture, western blotting, and luciferase assays. In addition, I further developed my dry lab skills in data analysis, presentation, and organization. The internship culminated with having to give a three-minute lay talk, a ten-minute scientific talk, and poster presentation. Outside of lab, we also had the opportunity to take classes to give us a better understanding of cancer as a whole. Such classes included cancer metabolism, cancer epidemiology, and cancer genetics. This internship allowed me to gain a better understanding of molecular biology, protein analysis, and cancer as a whole. Thank you, Roswell Park, for a wonderful experience this summer :)
