I rotated out of Marketing for Sonlight to do film production for the parent company. This way I could build product for the InquisiKids brand. I spent a couple years helping write a couple new science experiment books, but was eventually consumed by production. I am the assistant writer, the "star", and editor -- all while leading my small team, running IT, and assisting with everything else that needs to be done when on a small video production team.

MEDIA RELATIONS SPECIALIST (2006)After creating education DVDs for Sonlight as a contractor, I wrote a job description and suggested they hire me full-time. They agreed. I blog daily and interact on the blogosphere. I produce vlogs, videos, podcasts, DVDs, and deal with any other media/new media that comes along.WEB CONTENT MANAGER (2008)Eventually, my efficiency increased to where I could also take over maintaining the website, replacing a full-time employee who had left the company while maintaining my Social Media work.MARKETING TECHNOLOGIST (2010)In time, I also took over figuring out and running the marketing technology for the company, including the complex email system, FAQ tool, the CRM, heading up SEO, and more.PROJECT MANAGER (2012)Given my deep understanding of the company and its needs, I helped drive major software development projects. This included vision casting, scope setting, decision making, as well as consistently submitting feedback on UX/UI and the overall functionality of the systems. I also spent considerable time honing my ability to break software (QA) to find the underlying issues that need to be resolved.MARKING LEAD (2015-2016)I helped the company refocus and re-establish its direction over a very tumultuous year. While sales continued to fall even after I stepped into the role, we were able to stabilize our approach and set policies to help us get to where we are today. I was a key player in building to a functional team. When the new Marketing Director came on board, the changes were already in place to head to the future while maintaining the direction we set during that year.PRODUCT CREATOR (2016)I created new products for the company and helped create Marketing materials, like homepage videos, promotional videos, and recording live events. I also starting building a Bible program based on my years of teaching Sunday School.

I plan to do more with this at some point, but my free time is currently put toward parenting.A site dedicated to empowering and equipping youth in media production. Includes a free film school offering Filmmaking 101 and Editing 101. This is a passion project that started as a blog in college (when I was in film school myself). I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share what I've learned -- and am learning -- as I produce projects myself. One of my favorite parts is creating Behind the Scenes documentaries for every one of the short films I produce.

I had the privilege of being the "keynote" speaker at camp for two years in a row. It is such a blast and I love the opportunity to teach kids more about the Bible and encourage them in their lives.Since then, I have been invited to spend an hour (or three!) doing "Random Bible Question Time with Luke" -- a personal favorite. This gives the kids a chance to ask any question they've ever had about God, religion, or the Bible. The campers had fantastic questions this year, including:* Why are the books of the Bible in the order they are?* Are relics reliable evidence of biblical history?* How do we understand the conflict between science and religion, creation vs evolution?* If people claim to be a Christian but don’t act like a Christian, are they a Christian?* What are the Leviathan and the Behemoth?* How do we know the Bible is true?

I plan to do more with this at some point, but my free time is currently put toward parenting.I make vlogs musing about theology, science, religion, and such. Inspired, in large part, by my mom who suggested I should become "the John Green of theology" where I could briefly explain difficult concepts in a way people could understand. This is a bit like "Random Bible Question Time" I do with my Sunday School class ... but for everyone. And I love it.

Video media production from initial conception to final delivery. I was the Senior Editor, marketing writer, and web developer, among other things.I founded this company with my business partner from college. While our partnership and the company did not last, the lessons I learned in those couple brief years continue to help inform how I serve customers and create value.
