Why does a stage performing ventriloquist become a voice actor? The answer may surprise you.In addition to the fact that as a voice actor I don’t have to worry about lip control, I get to continue to meet a community need, only now my community has expanded to the world at large.Do you remember in third grade when the teacher went around the room asking what you wanted to be when you grew up? I don’t remember what I said as my classmates spouted off, “I want to be a Fireman,” or “I want to be a Nurse.” I doubt I said, “I want to clean other people’s toilets and play with dolls." But, that is exactly what happened. I've lived my life in the service industry while performing on stage as a ventriloquist.During college where I studied Business Management and Public Speaking, I started/ran/and sold my first commercial cleaning company. Right out of college I was hired by a large hospital system as an Assistant Director. I had 100 employees and my job was to make everyone on campus happy with the way everything looked without anyone seeing us do it.
