This Degree was completed part-time, while still working full-time and it complimented my professional career in a great way.This Degree has provided me with a deeper understanding of business management practices, and I was also able to better associate studies with real-life situations in the workplace. Time management between university studies and work required dedication, organization and coordination of not only me, but my fellow work colleagues, Sales team personnel and stakeholders of the company.The practical use of studied theories from university has assisted me with growing and developing my Sales team into a productive, efficient and streamlined department in a thriving company, which is expanding into bigger markets. We are forever developing new technologies, Smart Solutions, and striving to deliver the utmost, highest levels of service, support & professionalism to our clients.

After having served as an Account Executive for two (2) years, the opportunity to be promoted internally into the Sales Manager role was offered. This is effectively Head of Sales for UNITECH Solutions and is a unified role, combining several major elements.The roles involve account management activities in the way of building relationships with new and existing clients, business development, account management and service delivery. Other activities include proposal preparation & presentation, network solution design, on-premise & Cloud technologies, product development, sales & marketing.The management side of the role entails budget reviews, policy reviews, marketing & management of a team of Sales personnel, strategic planning and constant departmental reviews. I have taken it upon myself to personally oversee improvements to the processes within the Sales department, to make it a more competent & profitable department. The simplification of regular retention sales activities, renewals and document control all helps to make the access of information required to deliver services to our clients more effectively. Overall, the role is quite diverse and provides an array of challenges that keep changing, as the market moves and fluctuates. The role also offers me the opportunity to develop business in other regions of Australia & beyond, growing our client base. Expansion into these markets provides new opportunities for me personally, but also to the company as a whole.

My career in corporate sales began as an Account Executive at UNITECH Solutions. After being promoted internally from an Admin Assistant role, I was given the opportunity to show my abilities and talents within this very dynamic, energetic and interesting role.As an Account Executive, I had the pleasure of going out and creating relationship with clients, selling new products & services to meet their needs and learning about new products & technologies.Not coming from an IT background, this role tested my abilities in IT sales and allowed me to learn about IT in a big way. Understanding solutions, products and the selling technique, all helped me greatly in developing new skills.During my time in this role I had also begun my university studies in Management and was able to uses the skills learnt from university towards this role. Sales figures for general sales within the company increased during this time and regular monthly turnover budgets were achieved.I was also able to introduce procedures and polices within the Sales department that aided in improving processes for aspects of sales. Procedures surrounding licence renewals, quote turnover time frames and structured gathering & storing of information were all introduced.Client relationships also improved, as frequent client visits were scheduled and overall client satisfaction increased. This resulted in growth of sales for the company.

By providing this assistance to the Financial Controller, they were able to focus their efforts towards managing company finances more effectively.At a later stage, the role also offered me the opportunity to enter into sales, by also aiding the Sales department in research of new products, preparing quote templates, document filing and processing. The opportunity was then give for me to be promoted into the Sales Department permanently, as an Account Executive.
