Profile bio

About Luke Laverty

Research and technology are essential to my design process. My design passion is for performance--both human and sustainability. Notable examples are my research with Payette’s Building Science group to co-create the early design life cycle assessment tool Kaleidoscope; another is the research in psychology and architecture with Perkins+Will Human Experience Lab and thesis work looking at environmental factors on creativity and focus. I continue to integrate research and technology in a recent study of fume hood energy usage and current project looking at sustainable strategies for laboratories. I have over ten years of experience in professional architectural practice; my design experience ranges from residential to corporate interiors to complex laboratories, locally and internationally. Science and technology projects are what truly excite me about architecture. I get to work with world-changing researchers and strive to create intricate, beautiful, and sustainable spaces of research and collaboration for them to do so.

Listed skills include Design Research, Sustainable Design, Space Planning, Green Building, and 23 others.
