About Luke Marshall
I am an enthusiastic and motivated IT Management undergraduate from Munster Technological University. IT is my passion and I am always willing to learn new things to improve my current skill set. I have a particular passion for scripting/programming in areas such as cyber security and networking, with completed projects including network automation scripts, end user network monitoring scripts and security scripts written in Python & Golang. Topics such as software defined networking, IT automation, Cloud and systems administration are also of great interest for me. I have worked in various Linux environments and have a passion for the administration/security of Linux servers. ● Working with the Enterprise Network Services team with a focus on automation.● Designing, creating and maintaining a fully functional backend as well as a complex ecosystem for a web portal application to help Desktop Support Teams debug end-user connectivity issues.● Backend created with Python using the Flask framework, as well as other microservices written inPython to help reduce execution time of backend operations.● Backend performs numerous API calls to various different platforms and queries SQL, NoSQL & Cloud databases.● Working with a development team, designing and creating a Python daemon to perform operations on the Kong API Gateway Service hosted on servers implementing the Data Plane of the API Gateway.● Python Daemon is responsible for updating, restarting and performing health checks of the service and communicating the information back to a Java Backend via gRPC.● Creating a message broker functionality within the daemon to handle messages being sent from the daemon, and from messages being received via gRPC messages from the Java backend.● Creating a Python service to ensure servers responsible for hosting the RADIUS service arefunctioning. Sending an automated email if the service is down, and using a database to hold the status of each server.● Creating scripts written in Golang to retrieve network related information.
