St. Meinrad Archabbey is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1854 by monks from Einsiedeln Abbey in Switzerland and is home to more than 80 monks who live work and study there. The grounds of the abbey are in pristine condition, as welcomes many visitors year-round. French Licks is an ice cream shop located in Southern Indiana, in the town of French Lick. The shop serves dozens of flavors of homemade ice cream, as well as many types of coffees and frozen drinks. There are also wood-carvings in the shop, both on display and for sale as the space is shared between the ice cream shop and a wood carving store.-Communicated effectively with hundreds of customers on a daily basis.-Balanced many tasks all at once including, serving, cleaning, and managerial duties.-Coordinated with co-workers and supervisors to provide excellent service.

Leopold, Indiana

Commodore Table is a program that serves a free, hot meal to needy people in the community around Perry Central Community School Corporation in Southern Indiana. Many people in the community struggle with food insecurity due to poverty and geographic isolation. In an effort to help, this program was created and provides a meal once every month. Different organizations in the community sponsor the monthly meals. -Created the program, in consultation with Catholic Charities and the administration at Perry Central Schools.-Organized monthly meals, spanning almost 2 years, that served over 1,000 people.-Networked with community groups to schedule “meal sponsors” that would help cook and serve the meal for community service.-Secured grant funding to start and build the program.
