I joined BT on a temporary contract in order to help with a payroll project. I was assigned 1900 recipients of BT's payroll system that had the need to be potentially recalculated manually and delegated them among myself and three other team members. I had to quickly learn how to manually calculate peoples payroll and pensions to be correspond to the correct rulings and regulations of their specific pension schemes.

As with PwC, I worked for the duration of busy period, however, on less varied clientele. Work with EY in Newcastle focused more on the audit of smaller corporate manufacturing clients. Due to the smaller clients, the teams were smaller. This meant I participated in a lot more of the audit and had more responsibility. The majority of my work was testing balance sheet items.

These varied from large banking clients, investment trusts and large insurance clients to more corporate businesses.Work includes predominantly doing test of details on line items such as cash and PPE as well as auditing whole sub entities of larger clients.
