As a recovering journalist, I now find myself working as the Communications Manager for the seventh-largest City in the U.S. In this role, I help strategically communicate accurate information about City initiatives, policies, and services, contributing to the advancement of our community. I like to say our job is to "inform, educate and have fun" while making sure our residents know what is going on in the town they live.Prior to my tenure with the City of San Antonio, I was an Emmy Award-winning journalist with 20 years of leadership experience in media organizations. I loved helping lead a team of producers, reporters, photographers, and editors, ensuring the delivery of relevant and accurate content across on-air and digital platforms. I also spearheaded strategic planning for major events and facilitated collaborations between news and sales departments to drive sponsorship opportunities.Throughout my career, I have taken pride in my ability to navigate fast-paced environments, adapt to changing deadlines, and develop talent within organizations.
