I'm a former Australian Defence Force Aircraft Life Support Fitter with multiple years' experience in a safety critical role within Army aviation. I have worked on numerous aircraft types and subsequent safety equipment both domestically and internationally. I have made a successful transfer back into the civilian sector, working with a local business focused on business development within the community and have further utilised my strong teamwork background to become part of a team delivering major airport projects to the customer.Prior to the transition, I worked as part of a small team within the Australian Defence Force to provide maintenance support with a high emphasis on technical airworthiness and regulatory standards. Areas of expertise extended to; flight crew protective equipment and high performance clothing, self-inflating rescue systems, inflatable rescue systems, aircraft restraint systems, aircraft communication systems, high pressure rescue devices as well explosive ordinance handling. I was a training facilitator and instructor for flight crew, providing theoretical and practical training including individual life support system use, aircraft installed rescue systems, standard operating procedure of rescue equipment, methods of activation and safe handling procedure. I have a Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, formal first-aid training in both military and civilian instances, and experience in the workplace LEAN process.
